Found in Malcolm X Park: Woody and Friends

“Found in Malcolm X Park” is an occasional feature on a piece of trash or other discarded item recovered from the park. This photograph, found near the playground on the western edge of Malcolm X Park, is dated on the back: August 1983. I believe that’s Woody Woodpecker in the middle there, so my foolish initial assumption that this was a Disney vacation seems to be incorrect. It likely depicts a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood.

I like the jumpsuit the young lady is wearing. They’re totally back in style you know.

That photo is wonderful. I believe that is a photo of now drummer, Amir Thompson, aka. ?uestlove of the Roots.
He grew up very near to Malcolm X Park. It looks a lot like him.
He would have been about 12-13 in 1983.
