52nd Street Flavors is back in action!
This is breaking news…
Last night at the Alternative to Violence event in the park, someone was walking around handing out fliers for the freshly re-opened 52nd St. Flavors at 52nd and Addison. Neighborhood residents were saddened earlier this year when it looked like we were going to have to find a new source for water ice, but no longer! Yesterday was 52nd St. Flavors’ first day under new ownership, and it looks to have a more ambitious and wide-ranging menu. Occasional commenter MR.MIKE joined me for water ice after cleaning up from the event, and it did not disappoint. When the malcolmxpark.org scanning facilities come online later today, I’ll post the actual flier, but here are the details:

YUM. I wonder what “premium water ice flavors” and “gourmet cream ice” means. I hope it means natural-like water ice that doesn’t look like it could fuel a nuclear reactor!
