Reminder to my fellow dog owners

I love dogs and you love dogs, but not everyone does…Some people are terrified by off-leash dogs! Do the right thing and keep them leashed. And we share this park, so clean up after your animal!

It’s a little unclear what exactly happened here:
Pretty much every childhood toy is represented in this mess: Legos, Sorry, Hotwheels, etc.
I’m guessing somewhere there’s a house full of fervent recyclers missing it’s bucket this morning. A note to recycling bucket thieves: At least wait till they’re empty!
At this moment, there are three abandoned kittens in an orange box along the 51st Street side of Malcolm X Park.
UPDATE: The box is gone, spirited away by a new adoptive family

This bench is mine
I have a new pen
I do so love these Jazz concerts, every other Thursday night in Malcolm X Park

This swiss-cheese-like climbing structure seems to function as a renewable little community bulletin board, recording crushes, turf declarations, base profanity, as well as more puzzling and subtle testimonials, as in the third image above which features the word “worries” by itself followed by a lingering scatter-plot of sharpie marks, as though the author considered elaborating but thought better of it.
And based on the idiosyncratic spelling of “bite” on two of the panels, it looks like Aisha might be spreading her crush around to both Tyree and Amir.
A cleaning crew wiped this graffiti clean this week, leaving a fresh canvas.
Ahh, that explains the high-speed traffic jam of Police cars speeding north on 52nd St. last night:
A fight broke out on a West Philadelphia street last night, an altercation so large that a large number of police officers, including SWAT and canine units, responded.
According to police, the melee, which might have involved several hundred people, broke out shortly after 9:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Reno Street in the Mill Creek section of the city.
Initial reports were that the fight broke out following a basketball game. The crowd was dispersed within 30 minutes without any injuries to officers.
No word was immediately available on whether any residents had been injured or any arrests made.

Seems like something we might see YouTube videos of before too long…
Let’s say you’ve got a hot date and you need to replace the fan belt and brake pads on your smooth ride and then spiff it up with a little Windex and chrome polish. That’s a very nice idea! Please don’t leave the whole thing in Malcolm X Park when you’re done:
But seriously, don’t short-dump your bathroom sink in the park. And if you are going to (again…DON’T), don’t carry it to the middle of the park somewhere! Just leave it on the sidewalk like all the other disrespectful short dumpers.
